What can you do to avoid burglary ?

Be sure to lock all the doors and windows in the apartment on departure. Do not forget the small windows in the toilet/kitchen/shower.
· Do not leave valuables in clear sight.
· Do not let strangers into the hallways when you enter.
· Do not let strangers into the hallways when they ring the door via the intercom.

Most burglaries are opportunistic. This means that a burglar uses the oportunity of an open door or window to get to your valuables.

If you fall victim to burglary:
- Report the break in to the police via 0900 - 8844
- Contact SSH Short Stay immeditely if urgent repairs need to be done, otherwise contact Short Stay the following working day
- Fill out the insurance claim form if you want to report stolen goods. Claims are to be reported within 72 hours. Check the household insurance certificate for phone number and details.

Household insurance
All accommodations you rent from SSH Short Stay include a household insurance. It is included in the rent. If you fall victim to a burglary fill out the insurance claim form. Do you need help entering the required information, just step by our office and a housing officer will assist you.

Please note that SSH Short Stay also mediates for private home owners. If you have not signed a rental agreement with SSH Short Stay, then you probably have no household insurance. Please check with your landlord/landlady.
